An Architect’s Dilemma

how do u feel about this? this happened to me sa work, kaya i want to share this.

we have a chinese client, which we are designing and building a custom house. it quite big, kaya medyo high priority? during the course of the design, the client has been very involve in the planning. which is right to begin with; since giving that freedom to the owners the final plan of the house was done a year after (it started from april 2006-present). and still the owners are making some changes/ revisions on the plan upto this point. d fact that the architect and owner are cousins, we have to meet their needs to keep that relationship working smoothly on the other hand the the office have suffered financially by putting to much time and money on plans that dont really count (detail of fireplace, baths, kitchen cabinets etc) im not saying that those plans would not be needed in d future but design drawings are only concepts and shop drawings which may vary in the field during construction are two different things.

d k nman sinasabi n ala m k n lahat, kasi bago lang din me d2. but it’s very frustrating on the designer’s part, but still we have to give a good service to our clients. ang hirap ng mundong pinasok ntin! hahah

have a nice day!
